Educational Administration and Leadership

Our two postgraduate programmes in Educational Administration and Leadership will build on your professional experience as an aspiring, middle or experienced leader. They will help you create and sustain ethical, inclusive and socially just learning environments.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Educational Administration and Leadership) is an applied qualification. It prepares teachers and leaders in early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary contexts for taking the lead in their educational settings.

The Master of Education (Educational Administration and Leadership) has a dual emphasis on applied educational leadership and critical thinking and analysis. Our courses are shaped by current, high-quality, national and international research. As well as our understanding of the diverse contexts of educational leadership practice. You’ll be encouraged to analyse and appreciate how theory and practise inform each other.

Join like-minded educational leaders to critically reflect upon your own experiences as an aspiring or experienced educational leader. You will be part of a collaborative academic community. You will be sharing, exploring and debating current educational challenges and opportunities.

Please note that neither of these programmes qualify you to be a teacher in New Zealand. If you wish to become a teacher, see the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching.
